Read for the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge.

I never read this as a kid. It was quite odd, but I can see why it would’ve been well received decades ago. Interesting for sure.

spontaneously decided to re-read this old favorite yesterday. some friends were discussing sarsaparilla and 'stuart little' was the only place i'd ever heard it mentioned.

i forgot what a weird little book it is, but so great. a human family gives birth to a mouse, who eventually falls in love with a bird and pursues her on a great adventure.

BAH. I HATE STUART LITTLE.

2022 Book Riot Read Harder Challenge #9: Read the book that’s been on your TBR the longest

I never read this book as I child, so maybe I'm missing some of the necessary child-wonderment that goes along with it, but it was... fine? I love Charlotte's Web, and it is an amazing piece of literature, but this one is nothing like it. There really isn't any sort of over-arching plot-- it's just a weird collection of strange stories of those creature who looks like a mouse (it's never confirmed that he's actually a mouse, he just has mouse-like qualities) who almost dies in different scenarios. Also, there is no ending.... He goes out into the world looking for his bird friend and in the end... nothing happens. He just keeps driving with no rhyme or reason.

I think it would be cute to read to my future kid, but it's not a good book....
