This book was fun and cute. The more serious topics/traumas were similar between the MFC and MMC. This at times was great to show how people with similar issues/trauma can support each other. This did also cause some lulls in the story because there wasn't a lot of diversity with their issues. If you're looking for an easy summer story with occasional drama then this would most likely be a book for you.

The way the toxic parents were handled did seem realistic and how the characters moved through the issues/progressed were stressful at times, If you've experienced these similar issues, but also relieving around any resolutions.

Happy to see the continuation of the characters from Icebreaker also making appearances.

I’m a huge hopeless romantic who loves alllll the cheese. However, this book was just a little too gushy for me. Also, I got lost a few times trying to figure out if we were jumping days, weeks, or just later that same day? It was hard to keep track which was odd to me for a rom com. I really enjoyed Ice Breaker but I feel like it had a little more tension between the characters, this was a little too insta lovey for me.

I do not know why I did this to myself again. I mean no hate to the author but these books are just not for me. Aurora and Russ were so annoying probably more so than Nate and Stassie and thats saying something. Aurora really stressed me out when she constantly made everything about her like when Russ went to see his dad in the hospital and she got upset that he did not tell her and made it seem like he was the douchebag. I feel Russ could have been a good character if his only personality trait was being infatuated with Aurora, like please, I need characters to have more depth. The author tried to cover some really serious topics, but I don't think they were properly addressed and frankly made me uncomfortable. The same thing happened in icebreaker. The majority of the sex scenes were pointless and not used to advance the plot. I am really tired of characters always playing the victim, because it makes them less loveable and less human. The only people I would recommend this books to is people who have not been through a wattpad phase.

I joined a fraternity at the beginning of school because I wanted a family that wouldn’t let me down like my real ones.

“I think all I’ve ever really wanted was for people to want to spend time with me.”

“I don’t think I have any red flags.”
“Oh, my sweet summer child. You’re a straight white man. That’s your red flag.”

“Will you wait until I fall asleep, please.?”
“Sure, why?”
“Because it’s easier to wake up and you’re not here than it is to watch you leave me.”

“If I change one thing in my past, it’s cause a ripple effect, and I wouldn’t chance not meeting you.”

“You’ll never have to question if you’re my first choice. You are.”

“Wildfire,” the second book in the Maple Hills series by Hannah Grace, is a very cute romance. Is it groundbreaking? Not particularly, but the relationship between Russ and Aurora is enviable and there were so many laugh out loud funny moments. I enjoyed reading it and I hope you do too!
