fantastic no notes. Fixed a lot of the issues I had with their previous novels like Cleat Cute and Mistakes Were Made. People in the reviews are complaining that it’s 90% sex and like… I don’t care

I enjoyed getting to know both Elsie and Ginny and how they had been best friends for most of their lives. Ginny has always been in love with Elsie, Elsie secretly also being in love with Ginny as well but not wanting to ruin their friendship. Where I caught up though was that I didn’t feel like Elsie’s reasoning was enough to keep her from pursuing something with Ginny, especially after Ginny asked Elsie to their school dance, making it pretty obvious about their feelings towards Elsie. I don’t know maybe that’s just me but I just felt like Elsie’s reasoning needed just a little more emotional weight behind it. I also felt like the conflict with the 3rd act breakup stretched out really long and we didn’t see them get back together until the very last chapter of the book. I would have liked to see more of their relationship in their would outside of the “honeymoon.” That would have been fun to see! Overall it was a good read but not an unforgettable read for me.

I wanted to enjoy this book. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a great job but I just couldn’t like it. I feel bad writing “negative” reviews but of course it’s important to keep in mind that you might love this book; I’m just reviewing so that you can avoid it if you think the problems I see would bother you too.

I do like that this queer story and that the nonbinary characters part was written well, the story was queer but not for the sake of it and you can tell. It’s part of the story because of the characters but it’s not the focus. The sex scenes were also hot! Now for the rest…

These characters are disgustingly codependent and yes it is addressed but not until the very end. It being addressed is what brought it up from 2 to 2.8. While the sex scenes are hot, they go in for too long! Days in the story, and I believe it over an hour at times 2 with my audiobook. At one point I just skipped through whole chapters (a few minutes at a time to make sure I don’t miss anything else) because it just kept going. The story just was a repeat of four things “we love each other but the other can’t know!”, “I love f**king you”, “let’s think about the past”, and “I need to do this on my own, but I love the other character!”. That’s it, over and over and over.

I wouldn’t recommend this book, but I do think that I would give this author another chance.

I loved this book. The romance, spice, and conflict were all exactly what they needed to be. Conflict stayed real to the characters while not making me hate anyone.

If you just want a fluffy spicy sapphic read then honestly a great book. Switch your brain off and enjoy.

I did like the first two-thirds of the book. The set-up and the holiday were fine (and there is a good 60 pages of pure smut, so I am not complaining!), but once they come back from the holiday the story runs out of steam a little bit. It's just not as fun to read and I lost my investment in the characters, if I'm honest.

The character development was bad. It was like there an idea of a story but it wasn’t fully thought out and the first draft was published. This was definitely spicy and GAY! Which we love. But it was so sudden that I felt uninvested? Also once it happened the rest of the storyline became SO predictable.
