DID NOT FINISH

Ugh. There must be something wrong with me. I just didn't feel it.

I waited a long time to start this series. After I read Axel, I found out what all the hype was about! This is book one in the Corps Security Series. I seriously love Harper Sloan to the moon and back for writing this series. It's alpha men at their finest! Each one of them are awesome in their own way and they all will get there own book!

This is Axel and Izzy's story. They were childhood sweethearts until certain happenings in life tore them apart for many years. During that time, Izzy did not have a great life which, in way, led her back to Axel. They have a lot of things to work out with each other, after they get over the initial shock of seeing each other again.

I freaking love Axel! I love how protective he is. I love how hard he is and I love that he still loves Izzy, unconditionally, after all the years they were apart.

This is going to be an awesome series. If you haven't started it yet you need too!

(I loved Locke in this book. Can't wait for his!)

Awesome, Awesome... And more awesome...!!!
On lordy..! I loved the book..!!

Can't fucking wait for more in the series..!!!

Loved it!

The love Iz and Ax had was very powerful. The hurt they both went through was crazy but it is great to know love wins in the end...

I read this book years ago but then finally listened to it. Still to this day I love Alex and Izzy. I've got them on my bookshelf for safekeeping. Could the performance by the narrators been better? Sure, but doesn't everyone have one they like more than others, This story has all the feels. You will get upset, you may cry. It will get hot as sin as well.

3.5 stars

Isabelle West lost her heart to the one man she trusted more than anyone in the world and she lost it. After years of loneliness, Izzy thought she had met another man who would protect her heart and have a life with, she was so wrong. After years of abuse ended with Izzy was able to get away. Two years later, Izzy has started another life, but her ex still is trying to scare her. Her best friend Greg Cage has brought in his friends who are joining his security firm to help get her ex sorted out, but never in Izzy's wildest dream did she expect to see the man she lost all of those years ago.

When Axel Reid sees Izzy again he knows he wants one thing, he wants answers. This Izzy is not the same vibrant woman he knew years ago, she is timid and protected by two people who will always put her first. As answers to the past slowly come in Axel and Izzy work through their issues from the past, but with Izzy's ex still a threat, Axel wants him caught before he can feel that Izzy is safe.

Loved this story, I had not read this one before reading the rest of the series. This was even better than I expected. You feel Izzy's emotions so vividly and as she becomes more like her old self with Axel, the story flourishes. Exciting beginning to the Corps Security series.

Last book of 2013 read, and it was a good one. Can't believe I waited so long to read it. On to Cage!!
