A hot and sexy second chance romance. 3.5 stars

This story of two people that fate won’t give a break to has a powerful beginning and an incredibly sweet and heartwarming end. It paves the way to what has the potential of a great series.

So why the 3.5 stars?

Well, I kind of lost patience with Izzy. I can’t possibly imagine being in her shoes, all her lose and having to live through an abusive relationship. But her wishy-washy stance towards Axel once all the misunderstandings and crossed wires are resolved, not to mention her attitude with Greg when he thought Axel’s involvement was necessary after being there for her time and again without question and then to top it all of her excessive cursing just rubbed me the wrong way.

I’m glad that in the end Izzy got over her fears and was brave enough to defend her friends and herself. But, I also really wish there would have been more action from all or some of the strong, sexy and lethal men from Corps Security, and there just wasn’t any.

All in all, the book is a good read with great characters. I totally fell in love with Greg, Axel, Maddox and am sure they will be an excellent source for the stories to come.

loved Axel and Izzy's story!!

Really good read after you get past the first couple chapters that seemed to want to put a million things into the story from the jump.

Great story. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Really good. Suspense is good. Sex is great. Love and angst is fantastic. My only complaint is the female narrator. She spoke so softly I had to turn the volume up loud. When the male narrator came on it about blew my ear drums out.

Harper Sloan I think I LOVE YOU

I definitely LOVE Axel. I loved all the people in the book...well minus the asshole ex husband. So many parts of the story broke my heart for all the wasted time between Axel and Izzy and the crap that happened. Axel is one the BESTEST guys ever. He is a big bad ass with an even bigger heart in regards to Izzy.

The smut was good, the story even better. There was a bit of a Kristen Ashley vibe to the whole thing and I mean that in the best way possible. I love KA and her bad asses but Harper Sloan and Axel are quickly edging her out for me. P.S Harper is one of my most favorite names ever.

I love the dual POV's and the clearness between them. It is so much better when they are actually together and not in separate books with far too much time in between. The last few books I have read - not including Axel - find it necessary to talk above you & use big flowery words. Thank you for using normal words - they way most people speak!!! Ahh and A connects to B, B connects to C....Z - Axel's story flowed very nicely. I didn't have to figure things out, they were printed in black & white.

A great story, NO cliffhanger and a HEA. A stand-alone in a series. I LOVED it. I am going to lose my mind waiting for 2014 and book 2!!

I loved this- the drama, both characters were quite sweet. I did feel the drama was drawn out a tad- why can't book characters just speak to each other eh!
All said and done though- I believed the love

Psht - you write her going from one abuser to another - being cussed at, being ordered around, controlling her actions, making decisions for her - that is not romantic or sexy
emotional medium-paced
