the plot was dragged, repetitive and very disappointing! the only reason i continued reading is because of the high rating! i thought we might get some great or shocking ending but imo, it was very basic!
the only good thing about this book was Jane! the way she kept making all the connections was very interesting! probably one of the best detective characters i’ve ever read!

3.75. This book could’ve been a 4.5 but in the last third, because there was a need to up the tension, the plot line with the police officers gets stretched out, and it just… doesn’t work as well as everything else. The cop, Jane, just decides that Simon is guilty and she keeps on believing so despite everything. And I could buy it in smaller doses, but because we are spending a good chunk of the last part of the book with her, it becomes less and less believable, and it starts to seem like she’s trying to believe it’s Simon just because the book needs that tension, and not because any human being would actually believe something like that with that much evidence against it.

Anyways, it had nice twists, it was entertaining.
