I'm sorry, but no. Just no. The main character is a total pick-me and I cannot stand her and her bemoaning the fact that she's taller than most people, has big feet, feels so invisible, or has to live in a small town. Welcome to my life. Personally offended that she thinks being any of these things is
such a bad thing, like for the majority of the time I happen to enjoy being like this. Especially being tall, it honestly can make a lot of things easier. And these things are seriously not as bad as you're making them out to be. Like girl, please, it's not that big of a deal. You and your family aren't so " quirky" and guess what? everyone has family struggles! Anyway, I did like her friend group, but that's about it. Ok, that's enough ranting. byeeeee

characters were okay. could always be developed more. plot was very unsatisfying & it definitely was not a mystery (contrary to what it might say on the cover)

Such a cute easy read. A heartwarming middle grade mystery. Truly Lovejoy's father is injured in Afghanistan. When he returns home he has to change careers. He moves his family to a small town called Pumpkin Falls to run a book store that has been in his family for years. Truly is in middle school, just trying to fit in. While helping in the bookstore she comes across a secret letter found in an autographed copy of Charlottes Webb. She enlists some class mates to help her figure out the clue in the letter and possibly find another one. The adventure begins. Such fun characters. The author made me want to visit Pumpkin Falls and meet the towns people for myself.

What a lovely book. It took me awhile to get into it, but I'm glad I stuck with it and continued on. The town if full of interesting and quirky characters. The town itself is tucked with corners and crannies, as well as the bookstore the family is trying to save. There is an interesting literary mystery in the story to get the plot moving, but more importantly the story is about a family that's hurting that finds its way back to each other.
