Just a mid book about a man who fucked up his life. Debated not finishing but figured I was more than halfway, so finished. I think I just hate books centered completely on the male protagonist.

Très descriptif mais pas moins rapide puisqu'on peut se retrouver à parler d'un quotidien long et juste après d'une nouvelle fuite; la lecture peut donc être un peu ennuyante parfois alors que la fin est vraiment très très rapide.
Je le conseille en tout cas.

Beautifully written and translated. The most unromantic romanization of Rome.
I thought I'd really enjoy this but I fell asleep during the audiobook and when I woke up I had no idea what was going on and realized I unfortunately did not care to find out.

This was written 50 years ago and it shows. Loved the writing style, pacing and setting that was developed in this book. I was totally engrossed in it, and a few strangers that saw me reading it said as much.
What lost me was that I didn’t find any characters likable and the writing of the female characters felt sexist - all whiny romantic types that are disposable and fall for terrible men.
