And another book I couldn't get enough of! Just like with 𝑴𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 π‘π’‚π’Œπ’†π’“, I spent much of the time laughing out loud! Once I started this one, I couldn't put it down.

I adored Cortney Miller! He was a beautifully chiseled, hilarious character, much like Beckett was. I loved how he was with Dylan when they met. He was superstitious, so, as Dylan liked to say, the universe meant for them to meet!

I loved Dyl in book 1, so seeing her get her story was a delight! I loved that she was the head mom of the kids, watching them and caring for them all while her besties worked. The was also the eccentric, laid back, "be one with the universe" type of girl and I loved that. I was born in the wrong era, I used to tell my mama, so I related to her and her thinking in so many ways! When she meets Cortney....well the universe definitely had some sparks flying between them!

When Cortney & Dyl meet, one night turns into.....well, 9 months and the fun is just getting started for them.

𝑇𝑒𝑑𝑑𝑦 π»π‘Žπ‘šπ‘–π‘™π‘‘π‘œπ‘› & π‘€π‘Žπ‘₯𝑖𝑛𝑒 π‘€π‘–π‘‘π‘β„Žπ‘’π‘™π‘™ truly brought Cortney & Dylan to life. From the laughs to the oh πŸ’©moments to the beautiful kids and all the besties, you could feel it playing out like a movie as you listened. It definitely was hard to keep a straight face with these two narrators narrating!

π™ΉπšŽπš—πš—πš’ π™±πšŠπš›πšŠ'𝚜 ability to create the second MomCom book just as hilarious and spicy as the first, was beautiful. She has made it on my list of authors to read more of, that's first sure!

Dylan was one of my favourite characters in Mother Faker, so I was thrilled to see I didn’t have to wait long to see her get her HEA. She has such a whimsical sunshine personality that it’s hard not to love her.

In Mother Maker, she has a one-night stand with Cortney, the new catcher on Beckett’s baseball team, who falls for her instantly. It was meant to be a one-time-only deal... until Dylan discovers she's pregnant.

But Cortney steps up to the plate. He moves in without hesitation and works to build a bond with Dylan's teenage son. My favourite moment, though? When she meets his family for the first time and how supportive they are of her.

They were such a cute pairing – both wholeheartedly accepting and understanding the other 🫢🏻. This quote personifies how much he loved and appreciated Dylan's quirks and positivity. "Every one of Dylan’s flaws, according to Liam, were things I loved about her. She was refreshingly different. And confident. She radiated this peaceful assurance that I’d never experienced until I met her."

The main reason this didn't get 5 stars from me is because I feel like she did Beckett dirty! I LOVED Beckett in book one, but his meddling in this book wasn't cool and also felt out of character.

However, I'm still excited to continue the series. The duet narration is PHENOMENAL and a must for fellow audio girlies.

Thank you to Blue Nose Audio and the author for the early copy!

Duck! I love one as much as Mother Faker!

Thoughts: πŸ’‘
Duck! I was not expecting to love this one as much as Mother Faker but I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite between the two. They’re written by two different authors so I thought there would be issues with continuity between the two but there wasn’t. These two volumes flowed together seamlessly with the details matching up, but the different authors meant that the two FMCs had different and distinctive voices. It was brilliant. I loved everything about Dylan and Cortney and the way they interacted with each other and the people in their lives.
We got to see a different side to the characters in this one that wasn’t as obvious in the last book. Mother Faker mentioned Boss Man’s tendency to manipulate people and stuff his foot in his mouth in awkward ways, but we didn’t get to see that as clearly as we did in this book. So many of the characters' oddities and personalities were developed further in this book and if I could give the author higher marks than a 5 star and 5 heart rating than I would. It was excellent.
I also realized I’m a big fan of Maxine Mitchell. She was great in book 1 but she exceeded all my expectations in book 2. I’m going to have to find books she narrates just to listen to them because the woman has mad skills as a narrator. And if my new found love of Ms. Mitchell wasn’t enough, my ears were in auditory heaven with Teddy Hamilton’s naughty whispers and Blue Nose Audio’s excellent mix of narration and sound.
In short, if you want a book that will make you laugh, fall in love with the characters, and rev your engine, then go get your copy of this one ASAP.

Narration 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

I loved being able to dive back into this world with the momcom (mom commune). This time with single mom of a 15 year old boy who will do anything to protect his Ma. It was great seeing Dylan and Cortney’s relationship bloom, but honestly I loved seeing the relationship between Cortney and Liam grow and the bromance between Cortney and Beckett even more. I loved all the pranks that were played back and forth throughout the story. I hope to see more of Cortney and maybe even Dylan, Liam, and baby Willow in Jenni’s upcoming baseball series.

Maxine and Teddy did phenomenal as always. The one was in duet style narration so Maxine did all the female voices while Teddy did all the male voices, regardless of whose pov we were in. Stunning narration, standing ovation for these industry vets.
