I love this book. Like love love love it!

Well this is the first BDB book that I wasn’t thrilled with and did not rate 5 stars. This one to me is just boring to be honest. There are a few things that I enjoyed, but some of the plot lines just didn’t interest me in the slightest. I’m sure I’ll still continue with the series though or at least see if the next one is better.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
That was beautiful!

All the crotch goblins!!! But I’m actually happy for them.

I loved seeing this couple again and especially with the concept of a new family member. it was really an enjoyable story for me and so many new relationships showing up for further down the line. I cannot wait for the other books in the series.

This book is definitely one of my favorites in the series. Will definitely reread!!

Fucking bawled through it. I loved it!

Amazing! This one is definitely one of my favorites!!

I like Bitty but I can admit that I've never liked the adoption trope. Mary not being able to have children made it a little better and maybe I was in a weird mood while reading this book but it didn't feel as cute as the last time I read The Beast. I've been reading books lately which has writing more to my liking (single or duo POVs) and I was just not into this storyline for Mary and Rhage that much.

Saying that, I have to admit that I've missed Rhage and Mary and I appreciate hell out of it that we got more content from them. There's a reason they're one of my favorite couples in the series. I love how Rhage saw Mary as the most perfect mate, and the best thing that ever happened to him. I'm relieved that Ward didn't make him bitter about not being able to have young with his shellan but instead appreciate the fact that they can be together.

We've been discussing with Ruby how unfair everyone is to Lassiter, treating him like his an enemy or annoying little brother no one wants around, so I was so happy that Rhage acted like they were friends, at times. Rhage thinks he's insane of course but he likes that in a friend. He mentioned how it was hard to keep hating him and I don't get it at all. Lassiter has always just helped them, so why should they hate him? I also liked the way Rhage described him to Bitty.

Layla resents the idea of Brotherhood thinking she can't deal with things just because she's a female. The brotherhood's business affected them all and she deserved to know what was happening. I'm glad she's finally realized some of her worth and the fact that Jane didn't tell her what was going on annoyed me because if it was the other way around Jane would raise hell if someone knew what was happening and wasn't telling her. It's not like Jane knew about Layla's feelings for their prisoner and Layla wasn't against protection but she also deserved to know what was going on around her, especially since it could've stressed her and been bad for her youngs.

All in all I enjoyed this book but it did feel like a filler for me and I could care less for the drama Assail was going through.
