Yes finally!!! So very happy with this book. Review to come!
Wow.... This was AWESOME...... Like when this series first started awesome. Rhage and Mary.... I freaking love them and their journey they went on was absolutely heart melting.
I do wonder though what the heck is going on with the Omga and the Lessers.
Loved it.... This to me was the best one she has written in a long time.

I liked this book, however it did not grab hold of me as some of the previous books have. Not sure if it was because I knew where the Rhage, Mary, Bitty storyline was headed, or what, but I was glad to see that it did end up where I knew it was going.
And I kind of nailed the Jo thing early on, except for that surprising bit at the end. That I did not see coming, and was definitely not the person who I thought Bill was referring to whilst talking with her.
But many of the "hi-how-are-ya's" although shocking, weren't electrifying. At least to me.
Yes, besides the previously stated account, there were some pretty good "didn't see that coming" moments, but it felt like there was something lacking. Like things were too rushed, too many things going on at once.
That being said, I really don't want to wait for the next book to come out. I want to know what happens next, and I just want to keep reading. I love this series, and the people in it, and miss the ones not mentioned or brought into the story.
I can't wait to have some of the mysteries resolved, or at least discussed in future books:
Who is Marckus? I have theories, and I want to see if I am even close with any of them.
What happened to Throe, and where did he go?
Who is this unnamed heir for the deceased Glymera?
What the heck with the Scribe Virgin? How is that even possible? and how can someone be appointed into that? And what does it mean for the Brotherhood.
It is going to be a long hiatus until the next book comes out.

Heat- 3 Fewer scenes than other BDB books
While The Beast is mostly about Rhage and Mary, it really serves to just further along the many other plots. It was an enjoyable read, but there is no real conflict. Even the main storyline was tame. I knew by page 30 how it was going to end, but it takes 600 pages of very little drama to get there. Of course, it was fun to see Mary and Rhage's relationship grow and watching Bity open up was heart warming, but there was no real tension in getting to that happy ending. There were actually several times that I was anticipating a conflict that never appeared. Like when Bity and Mary went to the supermarket and Rhage was out fighting, I thought they might accidentally see him fight, or when the teens went after Mary. It seems likely to me that a young girl whose only experience with men was a father who beat her would be easily scared by another man. No matter how loving.
Other characters/relationships are developed further. I love seeing how Layla, Quinn, and Blay have worked out as a team. Assail continues to walk that line between me wanting to hug him or stab him. XCor and Layla are still pinning while waiting for Ward to write their book. Jo is thrown in and we have no idea why.

So awesome book. I like this and I will love more the Rhage than before I did. Characters were so awesome and theme of book was interesting.
En malta odottaa the Chosenin julkaisua, koska tästä jäi monia kysymyksiä jopa auki.

Another good story with the Brothers!!! I thought is dragged a bit, but once it really got going, I really loved it!! The Warden can always make me laugh and even tear up a little. Cannot wait for the next one and what is to come!!!!!
4.5 stars! It was really good! It does read a little slow just bc of all the different POV's, but the different storylines it brings is worth it IMO. I teared up more than once while reading this book... Bitty's storyline particularly got to me (chapter 71! <3) - as well as Layla's (I'm very excited for the next book! This storyline has been culminating for what feels like ages, and I can't wait for things to finally explode). Assail also surprisingly brought some interesting scenes! I have to say he has been the least interesting character to me in the previous books, and he really turned that around. I'm particularly excited for development with his new friend. Oh, and Throe - he an Assail has an interesting dynamic, and for a second or two I caught myself thinking that there could be more there...
My biggest excitement however, has to be over the two new surprising blood ties that were revealed! I'm really interested in seeing how those will develop and shake things up!
One of my favorite things about this series is that it is so easy to jump back into it even though it has been a year+ since I last read about the characters. The stories and characters has stuck with me since I first read Dark Lover however many years ago - I've never had to reread any of them before jumping into a new one because I couldn't remember what had happened. And that's saying something with how huge and packed with content these books are! When I do a reread it is that I can revisit and enjoy one particular part of the story spanning 14+ books one more time... <3
