lighthearted
This book was actually a little difficult for me to get through. I typically love an enemies-to-lovers but this felt so insanely immature for such a large portion of the book, I cringed. You know what's going to happen in the book before you start Chl and the ending was a bit much for me. Quick read but not my fav

I love this book. It did second chance romance so well even tho Naomi was a bit unlikable in some parts I still loved her and found her absolutely hilarious. Definitely the funniest book I've read all year

I think it's one of the funniest books I have ever read, but besides that, I didn't find any other redeeming qualities about it. I found Naomi to be the most insufferable character I have EVER read — and this book is a prime example of why 9/10 times first person narratives don't vibe with me. We're stuck in her cynical head the entire time, and without Nicholas' POV, frankly she seems really vicious (and of course, she'll never admit or recognize this). BUT I will concede and say, because of the humor, it wouldn't make sense or hit quite as hard if this story wasn't in first person. It's a balance but I didn't like her at all, even after she calmed down.
I like enemies to lovers as much as the next person, but this felt vicious and spiteful. I didn't find them pushing each other's buttons to be cute at all, and tbh it felt a little toxic to me.
I think the crux of this story is the idea that relationships are hard, but that doesn't mean they have to be so nasty. Throughout the book I just wanted to put them both out of their misery. Whenever Nicholas tried to open up or respond to her demands, she teased and taunted him. The tenderness at the end was cute, but as someone who prefers more fluffy, non-hate filled romances, I ultimately didn't enjoy this book at all.
