Spoiler ahead***If you would have asked me 75% through this book was leaning towards 4 almost 5 stars but the sudden “everything is alright” “I forgive you after I was just yelling at you it’s over” “your fiancé that was POW for a year is back and fine” but no back stories at all. I was left unfinished and so many questions . This books was so good. Well written up until the end. I’m not sure what happened. It had so much potential.

Well wasn’t that a neat and tidy way to bind the story together. It was seriously unrealistic but once I got past the slow start, I couldn’t put it down. I love reading about friendships between people of different generations. I didn’t appreciate the way that the mother was portrayed as heartless only to quickly be reframed as a victim of her circumstances. But I did enjoy Rory and Soline and the way the story unfolded.

I love every Barbara Davis book that I read. The way she weaves the stories of her characters together is really beautiful. I especially loved the dynamics between the female characters in this story.
