3.5 stars - an enjoyable, though terribly predictable story where everything is tied up in a neat bow by the end. The author overuses words like ‘frothy’ and ‘echoes’ which you don’t really notice the first few times, but by the end of the book become jarring and take you out of the story. The book is also told from two different perspectives, where one character perspective is told in first person narrative and the other in third person which feels disjointed at times and left me wondering why bother with the two distinct points of view at all.

The book is a past/present book. It’s about Soline who lives in Paris during WW2. She meets and American and falls in love with him. The book follows Solines story into the 1980’s where she meets Rory. Rory is a young lady in college whose boyfriend is missing overseas.
I really liked the story and the characters in this book.

This was a cute story- a WWII book that wasn’t horribly depressing. Enjoyable, but won’t be making the top of my list either.
