Loved loved loved this book!! Such a beautiful historical fiction novel about love and loss and being reborn through adversity. These characters really went through it, but they showed how you can triumph even though your road might not be easy. And I love stories like that. It helps me as a reader realize that even during difficult times, we can find the light.
I wanted to enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed the last book I read by this author but every single time I had to deal with Rory's POV I wanted to return the audio book. She had to be the worst part of the book and it was because she was so self-absorbed all of the time.
I could have taken a whole book just about Sooline and her life, I found that part so good and it was the whole reason I kept listening I ended up restarting the book and finishing it in a day.
I did find it a little...long winded though. It was over detailed at bits and I didn't think it needed to go into standing up, sitting down breathing. Little things that we know people do.

So many happy coincidences are not quite believable, but make for a good story!
Confused why this book has such high ratings. Yes, the story is engaging but sooooooo cliche I could barely stand it.
Loved this book - couldn't put the second half down. Love the writing! I felt like I really connected to the characters.
