Dark matter! Dark energy! Gravitons! Physics is cool. :-)
I haven't taken any physics classes since high school, but I had no trouble understanding the concepts in this book. (OK, my brain got a little melted in the last chapter or so when Mack brought in extra spacetime dimensions, but it was still awesome.) And because I haven't taken any physics classes in so long, it was great to learn about all of the new developments in the field and all of the fascinating ways the universe might end.
(And from the header on Chapter 4, Katie Mack has read Arcadia! ::fangirl squeee::)

Brilliant. So beautifully written, and infused with a sense of wonder along with all the physics. Accessible and exciting and thought provoking. Loved it.

The chattiness (in the best sense) helps the science go down.
fascinating read very educational it’s like a lecture and is very informative.
Quite good! It talks not quite that much about possible ends, there is quite a bit of general cosmology and physics mixed in. Which is probably needed, but it feels like it diluted the actual talk about The End of Everything a bit.
But a good read nonetheless. The last part, containing short musings about the end from a more philosophical perspective, made me a little emotional, gotta admit.

In spite of having read many other books on physics that covered many of the same topics, this book felt special. The premise was perfect for organizing the expansive (haha) set of topics. The writing was clear and engaging and often funny and brimming with both science and feeling, which of course are not mutually exclusive. I can imagine what a blast she would be in the lecture hall. Enlightening and entertaining. There were some bits that were new to me so that was nice. The last chapter did feel a bit unfocused to me but I was tired, and the epilogue sat up and reinvigorated me.

I enjoyed this book. Even though I had to reread certain sections multiple times.
