In hindsight, this was not the book to listen to on audiobook. I liked the authors passion and humor though!
Frankly this book was disappointing.
While this topic is fascinating and I appreciate the author’s enthusiasm, this book was just okay. It was too dry & academic for me. I almost didn’t finish it. There is a big difference between the author being exited about a subject and the author translating that excitement into teaching it. This felt like a lecture rather than teaching.
For me this book was good but not great. It felt like a list of the author name dropping. I worked with this scientist, I met this scientist etc.
Instead of this book read these: “Space is cool as F*ck” or “A Brief History of Black Holes” or
my absolute favorite, “How To Die In Space”….which is practically a perfect book.

What a great book! Inspirational in the way it's written. Makes you wonder what amazing challenges one can solve or ponder as a theoretical astro-physicist. Touches the scientific puritan within you to go pursue it or be curious about it on the side at least.

If you like Mary Roach, you will like Katie Mack. She relays complex science and math in a funny and entertaining way that kept me engaged and helped me understand. I find it terrifying yet fascinating to think about the Universe. This book hit all those good science buttons.
