This book had some great writing in it, as well as some great plot lines, but , oh my, it needed a editor to cut it down more!

This was a very long read. The story was good and entertaining but, at times, it felt more like a chore to get through. This may be in part due to me not reading many books over 300 pages but it was a great story. Lots of twists and turns and it does keep you fairly engaged at every single point.

Moved me to actual tears.

I really loved this book. It was quite long, almost 600 pages, and each part of the book was like a different book altogether, following certain characters from childhood through coming of age and becoming spies in World War 2. It was a family saga, too, which is not always easy to carry off. And yet it kept me enthralled. I was happy that it was so long because that meant it kept me going for longer.
