Might be my favorite volume yet! Seemed like the first truly complete story from start to finish and I loved Destiny being involved. Definitely worth reading and owning.

Things get intriguing with Seasons of Mist. Lucifer leaves Hell, and Dream is left holding the keys. Now he must decide who would best serve as its gatekeepers. He -- as an instrument of God -- makes the right choice, while also damning two angels, who must reorient themselves to a lower position literally and philosophically.

This is probably my favorite volume of Sandman, though the action of slinking around a castle feels far too extended. But that's a minor thing. Gaiman's examination of Dream's dilemma provides a lot of food for thought, even months and months later.

men will condemn you to Hell for ten thousand years and then be like, “are you still mad at me?

Personally didn't care for this arc. It wasn't bad though.

Compared to the volumes that preceded it, Seasons of Mists had a very clear narrative focus, which I greatly appreciated. I am really enjoying reading the Sandman series, but I am still waiting for Gaiman to blow my mind (and I fully expect/hope that he will).

I know I've read this before but things are getting wild once more. I love this story.

def one of my fav volumes so far

Yet again another brilliant Sandman story. It’s refreshing, creative and frankly I think it’s probably one of the best I’ve read so far!!
