the first half was pretty good. the second half was horrifyingly and breathtakingly amazing.

The narration was so good. It honestly felt like I was watching a movie at times.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this book, but I was pleasantly surprised. The characters were really endearing. Considering this is a YA I thought they did a great job capturing a wide range of emotions and giving the characters real depth. I wish it could have been a 🤏🏽 more cut throat but I always want more gut wrenching drama 😂.

This book was dry.. just kidding, I loved it! A powerful narrative about the disasters of climate change and the serious issue of drought.
challenging inspiring

Pacing issues (rushed)
Switches in perspectives a little forced at times
But generally great plot and concept
medium-paced

This book really made me think. An intense survival story and modern time Southern California. The FMC I feel was really dumb for a lot of the book. Her entire POV is poor decision after poor decision. She is a teen though, so it’s plausible.
