I absolutely loved it. This was recommended "if you're unsure about having kids" so I knew what I was getting from the book.
My review is going to be deeply personal and biased because I'm very similar to the main character Olive, a 33 yo woman who doesn't want kids.
The way Olive navigates life resonated deeply - the way she thought she'd one day want to have kids but that 'maternal feeling' never came, the way she feels behind as her best friends have kids, the way she feels unable to talk about not wanting kids when her friend is struggling with IVF etc. The list goes on! I've felt this way too, and it felt so good to feel seen & validated. ❤️

Unfortunately this really didn’t work for me. I found all the characters really quite dislikable, which doesn’t work for a character driven novel like this. I’d heard good things and am in the target demographic for this book but think ultimately I was expecting a bit more nuance.

Similar to ghosts, navigates friendships and relationships as we reach a turning point in our lives. Preferred ghosts though as it had more complex relationships but this was still an enjoyable and relatable read
