A very thought-provoking novella from Becky Chambers! There is curiosity, joy, fear, hope, despair, grief, and introspection. It it not filled with excitement and adventures through space; it's the day-to-day, week-to-week studies of extraterrestrial life and the mission to "catalogue, not to colonise."

I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook, as it truly felt like listening to Ari's field notes and recordings.

This book is really short, just around 150 pages. I really enjoyed it! The science was told very realistically without bogging down the story too much. I had no trouble suspending my disbelief in this. I loved the camaraderie among the crew as well. There was also commentary in the book about the purposes of science, and we change as individuals that I really enjoyed. So, if you want a short story about space travel and seeing new worlds, this is a great book for that purpose.
