For me, this book is more about the world than the actual characters, which is why I didn't give this a higher rating. They all felt a bit bland and flat; I didn't really connect with any of them. The plot has a lot of good twists and turns, so it is an entertaining read. Mild spoiler/content warning

there is some very gnarly death in this book, which I was not at all expecting

I started this book ages ago and I think I found it a bit slow and boring. I can't remember, so I'm just DNFing this one.

This was going well, amazing narrator, until a serial killer character was introduced. Evil for the sake of evil. This character did unspeakable things just to see what would happen.

I didn't want that in my brain, so I DNF'd it. Sadly, because the narrator Miranda Raison was spectacular.

Maybe it gets better but the main character mentions she's Just Not Pretty like 4 times in the first 20 pages and that annoys me so much

A fun, light read! I enjoyed the storyline and the face that it was two female protagonists who weren't in a romantic relationship with each other, and whose relationships with men were a secondary focus to their friendship-love for each other.
