I’m still not sure how to put my shock and delight into words when it comes to The Book of Doors. It’s not a cozy romance, and it’s not bone-chilling horror—it sits somewhere in between, constantly defying expectations. The story doesn’t even unfold in order most of the time, yet I could easily read it again and still gasp audibly at the plot twists that drop every few chapters.

The villains are truly vile—evil in a way that makes your skin crawl—while the good characters are like the soothing relief of ice water on a sweltering day. The concept is a mind-bender, often posing impossible questions without clear answers. I felt genuine rage when the wicked walked free and frustration when the good paid the price.

And that ending? It tied the whole story together in a perfect loop, like a song you can’t help but replay. A fascinating, unpredictable read that lingers long after you close the book.

Just not in the mood for this right now. It was good though.

The story is beautifully complex, but the complexity served to muddy the story for me. It was just a bit "too much."
