This book was as cringe-inducingly millenial as I expected, but it also made me cry and reflect on how obsessively protecting one's sense of safety and control can limit one's happiness. I didn't expect both characters to embody aspects of myself in various ways, and I didn't expect their caring for a dying man to tug at my ongoing grief over my cat of fifteen years. The writing could've been better (both characters saying celebrity names instead of cursing was so corny to me), but this novel has heart for sure.

i got so bored and annoyed with the characters, that i didn't even find this sad and kept rolling my eyes, so i skipped the last 40 minutes bc i couldn't do it anymore. it was too long, the old people were cringe (like 95% of old people in books are 🙄), Logan and rosemary had zero chemistry and i really didn't need the poop scene.
nice nd rep tho

My thoughts:
1. Logan is not a nice person and has a lot of trauma to work through. At least we see her start that process
2. Rosemary and Logan don’t have that much chemistry, but I did enjoy their little photoshoot scene that really breaks down Rosemary’s insecurities surrounding her sexuality
3. This was SAD. The author did a great job talking about death and grief and how it affects everyone. I couldn’t keep my brain surrounded with all the sad feeling through the writing process.

Overall, a sapphic romance that had me rooting for the romance for every character. I also love a little roadtrip trope.

The story, road trip, and Joe get 6/5 stars. Logan, her celebrities, and number of times she calls herself “fuckboy” gets 2 stars and it comes out around 4. ;)
