This was batshit crazy, funny to the point that I had to read much of it in private for fear of bursting out in laughter on the subway, and toed the line of absurdity for a rom-com and I loved every minute of it.
Picked this up because it was giving Butcher & Blackbird and A Serial Killer’s Guide to Marriage vibes—both books I loved. The premise sounded super fun and unique, so I went in with high hopes.
At first, I was into the banter between Dolores and Jake—it felt sharp and promising. But I kept waiting for the “games” to start… and they just never did. Instead, it turned into an emotional drama, which wasn’t what I signed up for.
There were a lot of subplots (they do get resolved), but by the end, I had more questions than answers.

I bought this book expecting a cheesy romance, ok writing and some serial killer vibes, and instead got a pretty cosy if a bit dark-humored rom-com. Would honestly recommend.
