I didn’t read a blurb. I picked it based off the title and cover and I somehow resisted looking any more into it until I was done because I spent a lot of it genuinely curious about where it could be going. Posey teases and tricks, letting you think the worst of the characters and then surprises you with emotional depth. Well done. Weird. And I like that.

Honestly I picked up this book thinking "oh something like Butcher and Blackbird" which is definitely not what this book is.
I love this book. The dark, morbid, humor and cynical MMC + FMC combo was a winning one. Did I cry multiple times while reading this book? Perhaps... but there were also moments where I was full on laughing.
If you've read this far, just read the damn book. Its worth it.

My god I loved this. I was a huge fan of the fanfiction (if you know you know), and was very excited to see what this was like. And boy, did it live up to expectations!
Dark, twisty, and hilarious, this is the perfect romcom and tailor made for me. Weirdo protagonists, with freaky obsessions and ridiculous banter. What’s not to love?? Sometimes books with premises like this can come off a bit cringey, and if you’re concerned about that—don’t be! It all felt so organic and natural, even though the leads are totally batshit crazy (I’m obsessed with them). The writing was engaging, and I genuinely didn’t see a few of the twists coming—I loved this, and really can’t wait to see what else this author comes out with!! Yay!
