This book was really good and I was actually okay with the ending. I liked that Blake Crouch included so many different perspectives/stories, it created a fuller view of the world of Pines. Good trilogy, I really like his writing. It is a pretty dark series though tbh.
This trilogy is a total page turner. I gotta give it to Crouch for keeping the momentum going at a break neck pace, non-stop, for three books. This story is like zombies-meets-The Village, where the townsfolk are isolated and have no idea what's out there. I appreciate that genome deterioration is what created the monsters, versus a virus, fungus, etc. And instead of cryogenic freezing, it's this weird blood draining thing, almost like you're being dehydrated like a raisin. Anyway, all this is brought to a close in a fairly satisfying way. I wouldn't say I'm blown away by the ending, but I'm definitely not sorry I read this trilogy. They're solid entertainment.
