I’m planning to do comparisons of the original book vs the revamped book for each in this series in the nearish future because I have all of the originals and honestly it just feels like something that needs done. Because I’m not feeling a *huge* difference??? Idk. Either way, this felt like a bit of a filler book in the series.
Note: I received an ARC from the authors. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.

There's always a dip in a series and this one was it.
The first half of the book was very lack luster and nothing really happened. You could definitely pick up from about 70% and still understand what was happening. The remainder of the book picked up, especially in the last 50 or so pages. It was full of everything we had been missing in the first half.
Montana and Callie seemed at odds with each other and when they finally reconnected, their relationship wasn't falling right. There's a strain because of Montana's new views on the vampires and Callie's unmoveable opinions on their experience in The Realm. There are characters I wish we saw more of like Erik. He is a big part of the series and there were times when I felt his POV could have been added instead of other filler moments. The main focus is Magnar and Callie and their relationship. There's a lot of tension there. Callie showed a more vulnerable side and she was more relatable to the reader.
There are many twists and turns at the end and characters start to really define themselves. There's a definite divide now and it's evident by the end of the book. There was more spice in this but I wanted more for the fourth book in the series. Unfortunately, Wrathful Mortals seems to be the filler book of the series but I enjoyed the journey the characters went on in the latter half of the book. I'm apprehensive about the next book.

Dual POV (still have past POV from the guys). Unfortunately, this book is not heavy on the Erik sightings but if you’re a Magnar fan then you’re in luck (even though it’s a bitch of a slow burn—there is some relief though). Although I will say all the men are still being assholes basically the whole book. They really should listen to the women (not Valentina though obviously). The last 20-30% is very intense

Ok this has been my least favorite so far in the series even though I did still thoroughly enjoy it, because I really missed Eric/Montana and their interactions. I feel like I wanted more “today” Eric and less 1000 years ago Eric haha. But… I’m excited about where this book left off!
