Scarlett and Browne are so settled into their partnership after years of being outlaws it’s beautiful to see. While I did think certain things were underdeveloped
like Mallory’s redemption arc
overall was a great book. A little meandering but I think that’s just the style of the story being told

A great book.  I do feel that author Stroud is being a little gunshy about the titular characters' relationship, stressing that they are incredibly close but neither confirming nor denying whether it's romantic, familial, purely friendly, or somewhere in between.  The series is far enough along that I think as a reader I would like some closure--I love found family as a trope and I also enjoy friends-to-lovers, but the lack of clarity is driving me crazy!  Otherwise, I really enjoyed the addition of a CERTAIN new old friend to the crew (no spoilers but it's good trust me) but I was disappointed that he spent more time with Scarlett than Browne did.  I would really love another book set in this world.  My minor quibbles don't detract from how genuinely enjoyable this book was.  It kept me in my toes the whole time!
