It was really enjoyable to come back to this series and overall this novella was great! I just wish that we got to explore the ramifications of Battle Ground a little bit more.

Going back to old school P.I. Dresden, helping out the little guy against the bigger players out there in the world.

Looking at it as a novella, this had everything I wanted from a Dresden story. It was a good introduction to a post-Battle Ground Dresden and world, with what it's like in the aftermath. I also liked that it was a (relatively) back to basics detective story.

I liked the presence of several of my favourite characters, and the introduction of a couple new ones.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the resolution. It felt slightly like a cop-out. Though it was fitting given the players involved, and I think it shows how Dresden has matured.

Now all I want is the next book!!

This book didn't seem to have as many fun little tidbits thrown in to be excited about for future books (or to connect to past books) but it was still a fun story. The author does the narration which was quite interesting (but I look forward to Marsters coming back! Bob's voice was my only complaint). Looking forward to more, as always.
