I like the concept: Regency + Paranormal. And I liked the hero & heroine. But there were a lot of murky bits, such as the whole idea of behind Felicity's inheritance. It just made no sense. And the narrator (Sienna Frances) was bad. Her interpretation of Felicity was just wrong, and she spoke in a way that made it hard to understand the writing. I missed some details and ended up not really 'getting' many of the secondary characters. I think part of that was Allen's writing style, but a larger part was the narrator's delivery.

i cannot deal with the writing style of this book, it completely takes me out of the story. there's a lot of over written sentences and unnecessary big vocab words that made it so confusing to read. i'm so sad bc i really really wanted to love this book! a historical paranormal romance???? sounds incredible in concept, but sadly the execution was not it

A Wolf in Duke's Clothing by Susanna Allen is about Alfred the duke and the Alpha of his pack . He is looking for his mate and finally finds her in lady Felicity. This was my first shape shifter book and I'm glad I started with this one first. It was an intriguing tale. The Language and wording was hard to grasp at first but once I was fully immersed into the story I felt that it made the story cohesive . The wording/language and story are both unique and come together to make a great love story.

This was really cute. Not as excellent as the second (which I read first) but still really sweet and enjoyable. (Except for one instance of mispronunciation in the audiobook - ‘she moaned like a wonton’. Spicy dumplings were not on the original menu, I suspect! I laughed.)
