I think this was really quite mediocre. the first story had me in for a bit, but yeah. There were some that borderline interested me, but ig these types of books are just not for me.

This was really cute. I feel as though this story deserved to be a bit longer. Even though it was only set in 1 weekend in Paris, I think it would have been better as a full week. I loved Nell and Fabien, I just wished I could have spent more time getting to know the characters more. Overall, though, it was really enjoyable to read.

So this review is kind of tough. I absolutely enjoyed the first story, but the others didn't hold the same excitement for me. Paris for One was so unique and adventurous that I couldn't stop reading. Plus, the characters were so real and easy to relate to that the story could easily be true. The other stories, while unique and intriguing, just didn't hold that spark. Maybe it was because the stories were short or some kind of sad, but they paled in comparison to the first. Not that I didn't enjoy any of them, I just liked the first story so much more.

As with any collection of short stories, I liked some more than others. This is a collection of stories about love — not love stories — and most aren't wildly original, but are entertaining none the less. Some had turns I loved and didn't see coming. This was such a quick read/listen that I listened to the "Paris for One" novella twice. The first time around, I couldn't get out of my head how much the story reminded me of the movie "The Holiday," (sorry if you read this before the book and will compare now too!) particularly Kate Winslet's character's story. But I love "The Holiday," so oh well. The second time, I was only thought of this story though and not the movie it originally reminded me of so it eventually did take its own shape for me. 3.5

Quick read with different fast-paced stories surrounding struggles in relationships, mainly married women feeling alone and unheard in their marriages. Easy to pick up whenever.
Moderate: Infidelity, Toxic relationship
The novella “Paris for One” was a 3 1/2- 4 star.
I dnf’d this after the short story “crocodile shoes” at around 75%. Idk if the writer just likes to write men as lazy and argumentative, or maybe the women as bitchy. It seemed like every short story was about arguing with a husband. Can we not write about happy marriages? I don’t like reading argument after argument.

The main story was charming and cute. The other stories were very short and meh
