I would absolutely recommend this book to any educator. I love how it offers “make stick”, “try this”, and “stop & reflect” sections in every chapter. These are tools and ideas to use in your own classrooms or challenges to reflect on your experience. So much of good teaching is reflecting, making necessary changes to best meet the needs of your students. This book highlights that.

Good book for educators that will inspire and cause reflection on your teaching practice. Murray uses personal stories that tug at the heart strings to discuss his own journey at being personal and authentic in his career and everyday relationships. I also like the stop and reflect sections in the book. This book definitely had me reflecting on my teaching practices and how I can improve and design an authentic learning environment and experience for my students.

This PD book had me bawling straight from the first page. Such heart and empathy for the career of education. I loved Murray’s stories he shared. Plus if you’re running a book club there are so many resources, questions and data to share both in the book and on his website. Highly recommend for campus book clubs/book studies!
