I'm really starting to hate the pranking in this series. Some of it is just cruel and not funny. Take that away and I actually do like the rest of the book. Unfortunately the pranking is a big part.
What an incredible story! I've always loved historical novels but I must admit that this one truly captivated me. It was funny, intense, steamy, romantic and sometimes sad. Truly a great one in this series.
I don't tend to read historical romance, but with the promise of the original Bradford, I couldn't resist! The story was funny, as per the usual, and cute. I adored the characters and their pranks. I appreciated the similarities between the generations of Bradfords and can't wait for future installments of this series!
I skipped this one every other time I’ve read this series because I’m really not a fan of historical romance. I made a mistake
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun read and I couldn't put the book down, I haven't stayed up all night to finish a book in a while and this one is the book that broke that hiatus.
I did enjoy the fact that the characters in this book were more mature I guess you can say. They were funny and had a wittiness to them but I didn't feel like I was reading a book about a 25 year old who acts as though he/she was 15.
Another thing is that I felt as though Truce incorporated aspects from the three previous Neighbor from Hell in it. Like the the childhood friends/enemies (Checkmate)... lusting for the girl that he shouldn't be lusting for and getting her pregnant (Perfection) and showing love and affection for the woman he loves (Playing for Keeps). I am not saying this is a bad thing I actually really liked it. Also, I would like to state that although it included similar aspects the stories were not the same. Truce had it's own style and story line and that I can appreciate.
Also, the necklace thing was super cute! And I like how the past was merged with the present. The only complaint I have about this book is that I felt as though Robert and Elizabeth's ending was rushed a little, but besides that I have nothing but good comments. =]

I. ADORE. THIS. BOOK.
I completely devoured this in half a day! What a fantastic read!
Having been a big fan of the Bradford men and their clan in the previous books of the Neighbour from Hell series, I wasn't really sure what to expect from a historical version ... this book was so much more than I could have ever hoped for!
With a good dose of sarcasm (19th century London style) and all the usual crazy antics of the other books - RL Mathewson brings this story & it's characters to life.
Sweet, sexy & absolutely hilarious!
I loved going back in time to see where it all began. My only complaint is that it's over ... I could read about the Bradford men & their incredible strong, sassy wome all day long!

Steamy, funny hate-love romance set in the middle of 19th century England/America.
Read it in one session. It is somewhat predictable but funny and sweet nonetheless.
Very good storytelling. (Two or three spelling-mistakes here and there.)
You really notice that [a:R.L. Mathewson|4586597|R.L. Mathewson|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1305057412p2/4586597.jpg] loves her characters. That makes it easy to relate to them and enjoy their stories.
Would recommend it as easy feel-good-romance.
