OH. MY. GOD. That was

Seriously, this book totally deserves a

After the previous NFH book (Checkmate), I was worried. It didn't live up to the previous books, it was just a 3.5-4 star read for me. But this one was the very best of what makes this series so great. I loved every moment of Elizabeth & Robert's story. I couldn't put it down. I should have been reading a book I have to review but once this was released, I was drawn to it. I had to read it. No other book would do. No other books existed for me.

And I wasn't the least bit disappointed.

Yes, this is a historical book, but it's more a historical "lite" book. It's set in the past, and there are some historical words but it doesn't have complicated histroical language. And at times it was possible to forget that it was historical. So if the fact that is is historical worries you, don't let it. You seriously need to pick up this book, clear your schedule and read this book! It's well worth it and you won't regret it.

5 Make Me Happy Stars
I can't begin to explain how much I loved this book. It was so nice to read a lighthearted, funny, romantic book. This is a historical romance but it really doesn't read like one. It was very enjoyable to read.

We get to go back in time and meet the beginning of the Bradford men and find out where their obsession with food came from and their ability to love fiercely.

Robert and Elizabeth were childhood enemies. They were constantly pulling pranks on each other, sometimes just plain mean to each other. After they humiliate each other in front of their family and friends when they were kids, they avoided each other like the plague.
Almost 15 years later, they meet again at a ball where neither of them wants to be. They had both escaped to find some solitude in the orangery where Robert finds Elizabeth reading a book. They don't recognize each other. After some very pleasant conversation the sparks fly, in a good way of course. But these happy feelings of love come to an abrupt halt when they finally figure it out.
Through unfortunate circumstances, they were forced to tolerate each other's company in the same household, and they just always seemed to push each other's buttons.
"Too far? Oh dear." She jumped to her feet and ducked just as he reached for her. For some reason she always went too far where he was concerned. It really couldn't be helped though, it was simply too much fun to pass up.
You know the saying that there is a fine line between love and hate? Well, these two definitely toed this line. It was so much fun to watch as their feelings developed and the humor and banter that they shared.

I absolutely adored this book. It will definitely be going on my favorites shelf to be read again along with the other Bradford clan.

Another perfect Neighbor from Hell novel. I have always loved this series and know I’m going to get a really great story whenever I pick up the book. This isn’t just about the lovable characters or plot, but the fact that these stories always make me laugh. Without a doubt, each story always makes me laugh and I love it.
Starting with the characters, let’s just say where can I find my own Bradford? First I loved Jason, and then Trevor. Connor (although he isn’t a Bradford), and now add in Robert and I just want to find my own. They are funny and silly but they all have big hearts. When reading, it really feels as if you’re there experiencing it. There’s always something that gives the guys away as more than typical guys. The way that they care about the women without realizing it makes the stories that much better. That’s when it’s the real deal. Even though Robert & Elizabeth had their issues when they were younger, it was clear that he really cared for her despite the things he said or did.
And now, the women are just perfect. They are all so spunky and fun. Haley, Zoe, Rory and now Elizabeth. They are the perfect matches to the guys and help make each story what it is. Elizabeth was great and I enjoyed the banter and fun between her and Robert.
The way that RL Mathewson writes always has me glued to the book and wanting to finish the book but at the same time, have it never-ending. I just love the way the plot runs so smoothly and it makes me fall in the love with that story and characters. Having this book be historic and give the backstory to the Bradford family was just perfect and I love that it was set in London. I loved that they went from childhood enemies to the perfect pair. I always have a sweet spot for those types of stories. Having it tie into Jason & Haley’s anniversary was great because there was more Jason, Haley, Trevor and Jared in it. Definitely another favorite and I want to re-read the first three again before moving on to The Game Plan

I just love those Bradford men! All of their stories have been fun, but I think this one was my favorite. Robert and Elizabeth were strong characters and knew exactly what they wanted.....well...kind of.....they just did t know they wanted each other. It was fun watching them discover how much they loved each other and all of the antic that they put each other through. Fun, fun, fun!
Taking characters from the first two books and incorporating them in this historical was a smart move and I loved the small update of the characters I so loved. Going back in time to the beginning of the family line, we meet Elizabeth and her arch nemesis Robert Bradford.Their families were friends but both Elizabeth and Robert hated one another since childhood. Pranks and name calling permeated their younger years and more than a decade goes by with neither seeing one another.
When Robert and Elizabeth do see one another again, it is at a ball. Neither recognize the other and for an instant, they are friends. An insane attraction develops between the two but before it can grow into something more, their real identities are revealed. Temporarily caught in their pasts, Robert and Elizabeth find it hard to overcome their shared histories. When they finally can express their real feelings, they must battle their families who have a hard time believing this new reality.
While I did enjoy the book overall, I felt it dragged a bit in the middle and was just plain dull in different areas. Filled with funny moments, I found myself drawn in to just lose interest a few pages later. Truce is definitely for fans of Mathewson and I recommend reading at least Playing for Keeps before this one.

I was worried by the description and change in writing style, but Truce was a very sweet and sexy, funny read.
