I read this book with hope that it will leave me with a better perspective on love and life. All in a span of three days, I think it succeeded in doing so. It’s definitely an eye-opening book for those who struggle to maintain relationships with themselves or others - at the end it’s the ones who are there by your side constantly, the love you never notice is there. I will be gifting copies to all my friends for their birthdays as I think everyone should read it despite their status!

I always prefer listening to the audio version of a memoir if the author reads it, and this book didn't disappoint! Admittedly, I had no idea who Dolly was before I picked this up, but I'm glad I read this anyway. This book was funny and strangely relatable despite my life path and personality not being like Dolly's at all. I liked the emphasis on friendship (not sure if that's a spoiler but is it a spoiler if it happened in real life? lol) She is an amazing writer and I hope to read more of her work in the future.

It's between 3.5 and 4. Some parts of the book are quite boring or not my style. But I have to give 5 stars for how good it reminds me of my best friend, it reminds me how lucky I am to be loved. Many parts I can find myself there. But it's not like a "wow" book that I can dwell in immediately.

5 stars because she bared her soul. 4 stars for my actual rating of enjoyment. I laughed out loud and I cried. I enjoyed the nostalgia and the book brought up my own memories. It did what it was meant to do. I thought it was sweet.

Perfect book for a girl in her late twenties, like I’m so glad I read this at the age I did. It was funny, sad, frustrating, resentful, hopeful, and ultimately calming. It’s comforting to hear other people go through similar situations that you find yourself in and acts a great reminder that we all are more alike than we think sometimes and that there is so much yet to come. I sometimes feel like I have no control over my life and things happen TO me not BECAUSE of my own actions and decisions. I won’t be naive to say this book has changed my thinking patterns and choices over the years, but it’s given me more ways to meaningfully reflect on them and for that, I am grateful.
