Really loved the world building and thought the ideas behind this book were really unique also always love a queer norm book ❤️ I think the character development was the weakest point of the story for me as I felt the characters weren’t very flushed out and I didn’t really care/feel a connection to any of the characters. Also the romances felt way too rushed and like some of the characters were basically just already in love and I was like y’all just met I’m confused?? That being said I’m really excited for the next books in the series and hoping there’s more character development

I liked the book overall, but the pacing was all over the place and it took nearly half of the book for me to really get into the story. The audiobook narrator also wasn’t my favorite.

Δυστηχως το βιβλίο εμένα δεν μου ταίριαξε. πολλά ονόματα για να πω ότι θυμάμαι ποιος είναι τι και έχασα εύκολα την μπάλα. Επίσης ένα από τα αρνητικά (πάντα κατά τη ΔΙΚΗ μου άποψη) είναι το ότι πολλές από τις πληροφορίες που παίρνουμε για τον κόσμο είναι μέσα από συζητήσεις.

Though some aspects of this novel didn't work for me, I think its Goodreads rating is surprisingly low? I thought Faebound's war-torn fantasy world and the lore built around it were immediately engaging, and the complicated sibling relationship at the heart of it had a lot of potential for juicy, character-driven conflict. But the romance elements, which kind of eclipsed the rest of the novel, weren't as strong.
The main characters are almost instantly physically attracted to their love interests, and then fall for them just as quickly. As someone who enjoys romance writing, I think that drives the tension out of it and limits the amount of individual character development a writer can show. I didn't get a strong sense of who Furi and Rayan were until the very end of the novel, and much of the sisters' inner lives revolved around their feelings about their love interests, when I would have liked more on their past or additional worldbuilding tidbits. Nonetheless, I thought this story was pretty fun; I finished it in one night and would love to read more in this setting.
