A virus takes out most of the population in the US and all of Jamie's family. He his in for a rude awakening as Andrew shows up at his doorstep with a bear trap injury. That is where their journey begins but it takes them through many daunting tasks and interactions. An adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat with a romance interspersed.

Me and my friend have both had this book on our shelves for ages and now we read it together!
It was a bit slow in the beginning and I didn’t get that far in it before putting it down. So I wasn’t super interested in the beginning.
But, as I was reading I got so hooked, I read like 2/3 of the book in like 36 hours (including sleeping and working). I was stuck, but there were some parts that I didn’t enjoy that much or feel weird about.
Them finding the Fosters and Jamie thinking about how he is in love, them kissing when they’ve been captured by propel who don’t like queer people and also the end meh
But overall it was a nice read, I was not ready for the more intense and “scary” parts of it!

This book was the most captivating piece of literature I've read in the past couple of months. It's an emotional rollercoaster that made me wanna cry as well as scream out load.

A delightful mix between a soft love story I just wanted to tag along with for the ride, and a tense adventure down the apocalypse-stricken east coast of the US.

I loved seeing Andrew and Jamie grow closer and get to know each other better, and also loved seeing the little glimpses of what other people were up to in this world. It really was like lil zoom-ins on a painting full of lil details.

Also loved the characters in general ! All so dofferent from each other and seemingly so real. 🥺

Despite the theme and some of the content, I had a wonderful time. <3
