A virus takes out most of the population in the US and all of Jamie's family. He his in for a rude awakening as Andrew shows up at his doorstep with a bear trap injury. That is where their journey begins but it takes them through many daunting tasks and interactions. An adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat with a romance interspersed.

just finished reading this for the second time and i swear it got better. i love the storyline and the subtle build of the feelings. the plot is presented really well. one thing i will say though, some words are repetitive - later in the book i started noticing more of 'i did this, i did that' sentences, with not much variety between words or phrases. i love the book regardless though, i might buy it (the first and second times i've read it i've gotten it from a library).

To be completely honest this did put me in a minor reading slump but that was more to deal with the fact that it reminded me a lot of this book I read in August and I kept comparing the two and thinking one was the other. That being said I liked this one more than that one. And had I not gotten in that minor slump this definitely would of been a 5 star read for me.

I can’t wait for the sequel that releases in March and I highly recommend this book. This is one of if not my favourite apocalypse book I’ve read. And the fact that it’s queer makes it even better.

I loved this a lot! It gave similar vibes to the last of us (minus the zombies and daddy issues) and I loved both of the main characters and was rooting for them. The ending was a tiiiiny bit extreme, but I was actually very happy with it.
