A queer take on a post apocalyptic narrative. I was so enamoured by this book. The characters were beautifully formed, the romance was a tantalising slow burn and so achingly tender. Enough plot to keep me engaged too! I just wish there had been some more resolution to threads that appeared early on. I thought as well that it was particularly intriguing that this was a pandemic story that referenced Covid but didn’t rely too heavily on it. It framed Covid in a more hopefully light merely by including it.

this is a interesting plot that didn’t quite meet the expectations i made for it when i read the synopsis, it needed more realism within the plot as there were parts that felt too good to be true. all in all it was a fast and flirty y/a romance and i’m glad i read it. it just needed a little bit of extra work to be more realistic in the creative ideas it was trying to achieve.

THIS WAS EVERYTHING!!!!!! i am slowly realizing i'm a fan of postapocalyptic fiction with a romance subplot, and this one delivered. i was so invested that i finished the audiobook in less than 24 hours. there were constantly scenes that had me on the edge of my seat and my heart racing because it felt like i was watching it on the screen. i would 1000% support this being adapted for tv!!!

A hopeful and slightly tense story about two teens trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.

There are cute, funny and tensed moments. The heavy subjects perfectly balanced with more lighthearted ones.

Finally a dystopian story with some proper LGBTQIA+ representation.
