OMG! I loved this book so much! I absolutely LOVED the Mercy/Sam relationship. It intrigued me. And Adam really grew on me. I found it absolutely adorable and hilarious that Sam was jealous.
I really really liked Warren and Kyle. I think it so cool that Briggs explores how it would be being a gay werewolf. It find it absolutely fascinating.
I really liked this book! Now I just have to wait till I get home to Norway to get the second book. I completely had a STUPID moment while packing my suitcase and left the second book at home *headdesk* Maybe I'll get my mom to send it to me *grin* Along with a norwegian chocolate of course! =D

I had given this 5 stars previously and remember liking it A LOT! However, on this re-read, I am now bumping it down to 3.5...
I really noticed that there is a lot of info dumping going on, which idk Maybe I didn't really realize on my first read, but it was a little annoying this time around.
The beginning and the end of this book are still really great. The action is written really well.
Sadly, I feel like the middle bit drags a little, which may have something to do with all the exposition that is happening as already mentioned.
And finally, this may be me getting older... but Mercy sometimes sounds a bit like the "not like other girls" trope, which I usually hate. It's not aaaas bad here as in other books - especially young adults, but you do get it here and there. I was most annoyed when it repeats that none of the other women in Bran's pack like her because of some bullshit reasons...like really? Luckily, it's just some throw-away lines, although there are still no other women that really stand out apart from Mercy..she is definitely written to be like..the coolest guys-girl...which is a shame as I really like Mercy as a character...I just wish she had some actual female friends...
Well, like I said, it's really not that bad it just stood out to me more now, so I'm knocking off a couple of stars, lol
I will continue to re read this series and see how the later books hold up

This was a good time! A little dated, but werewolves and shifters never disappoint.
This was recommended to me as a light, fast and fun read and it was all of the above. An 'alternative' history book - what if fae and werewolves and shaman and vampires were real? This is a fairly large fantasy sub-genre, mixed with the 'strong independent woman who kicks ass but also has a soft spot for cute guys which she never had any luck with until she finds two of them' (aka 'fantasy chick-lit'). I have had mixed luck with the modern day fairy tale stories (I couldn't finish [book:Ysabel] and I've never been able to read [author:Charles de Lint].
However, this book has a bunch of fun themes and therefore I recommend to anyone who needs something for the beach, or the airplane or an 'in-between' novel.
