Collide wasn't my favorite sports romance book and I wasn't planning on continuing the series until my friend gifted me Spiral. she said it went straight to her top books of the year and life in general and I admit I was curious… and after reading the book I 100% understand why she feels this. the book was fun, touching, serious, important, lighthearted… I loved it so much, it was so so good! I have to admit that I didn't give it 5 stars because the conflict that led to the third act break up was not enough for me and it was very weak. hated it.

I enjoyed it. I laughed, gasped, got all teary at moments. They do have some of the best lines.

Now onto my qualm, I really love the aspect of diversifying the main characters. I was especially excited to have a fmc that is (half?) Maroccan. While Summer actually had aspects to her that made sense to her and her cultural heritage. None of the effort was made for Sage. Just making your characters a POC does not make it diverse. It felt as though the writer had no knowledge of Marrocans. She could have had a complex tie to that part of her, because of her relationship with her parents. She would have been a more complete character fully fleshed out.

I started out listening to the audiobook and I didn’t love either narrator. It really wasn’t pulling me into the story. I switched to the novel version and it was better, but it still felt a little rushed to me… the ending was especially rushed (the epilogue just jumped forward and really threw things together).
