I love the fake dating trope and I really enjoyed Collide, so I was really looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, I just didn’t feel as hooked with this one. I did like the premise and the characters, but I felt there wasn’t enough emphasis on the fake dating aspect. Like they took a couple of pictures and shared them every now and again, but they didn’t really go on many fake dates and pretty much all the affection was done behind closed doors anyway, so clearly real and not fake. It kind of annoyed me how after all this that was clearly real, that they then went down the “we knew this had an expiration date” route, when it was clearly unnecessary. The whole moving in and sharing a bed thing too - it just seemed pretty unrealistic for two people who’d only just met and only just started fake dating. I also felt a couple of the injuries and potential drama was just added for the sake of it and not really needed. I did like that they both managed to find their place in the world, make each other happy and the found family aspect etc. It was a nice read, but I think I got to the point where I was ready for it to be finished. If you like sports romances though you may still enjoy this 😊
