This was a fun, yet cliche, romance. Sage and Elias had good chemistry. My problem with the book is that it was too long. Some parts dragged on. I think this book could've easily been 200-250 pages. Also, a lot of the conflict felt forced, like it was made to be a bigger deal than it actually was to create drama. Elias as a character felt too perfect. It almost felt like the author had a list of traits that make up the perfect boyfriend and used that as a basis for his character. Nothing about him feels unique. On the other hand, I really enjoyed Sage as a character. I appreciated her self-confidence and determination. I wish there would've been more descriptions about her dancing. All in all, this book is just another hockey romance.

This was such a good book! Sage and Elias was exactly what the other needed. The way they loved and cared for each other was beautiful. I also loved that Sage was a woman of color receiving all the love and affirmation from her guy.

“And the girl wonders why I buy her fucking flowers. I’d empty an entire flower shop just so she could decide on her favorite” - Eli, the man that you AREEEEEE!!!!

Super cute! The way Elias just knows all the perfect things to do/say to make Sage feel special and loved is my favorite thing ever. The development of their friendship (kinda) to being a full-on real romantic relationship felt very realistic for a fake dating trope. They both had their set backs when it came to actually taking the plunge and deciding to become an actual couple and those set backs didn't feel petty or forced to me. The found family in these books has been so good so far and I am a slutttt for found family and big, super close-knit friend groups. We got just the right amount of scenes with Aiden and Summer and I loveee Summer and Sage's friendship as well as Sean's bond with Aiden. All in all, a super cute romance book that is right up my alley! This series is the first I've read/heard of Bal Khabra and I am not disappointed.
