Amazing!! I had high hopes for this book and it was just as good as I thought it would be if not better. I was worried it would be a bit of an info dump like many fantasy books can be but the world building and explanations were amazing! 
The first chapter specifically was so amazingly written it felt like I was in the book. I loved the ending, it was a little predictable just because I found this book from TikTok and everyone talks about it. But still, it didn’t stop me from loving it. I think the main thing that stopped me from giving it 5 stars would be the love interest part. Ultimately the entire book focused on it and even though it was there, and I was rooting for them, it seemed a little bland, almost forced. The big romance moments, the realizations, the parts that made me swoon, were mostly from the characters thoughts and internal monologue. I would have loved to read something physical about it, something more. Honestly that probably made no sense but I want more reasoning as to why these love interests are what they are in the first place.

I didn’t really enjoy this book. (Spoiler) the relationship between Feyre and Tamlin didn’t feel… good? There wasn’t much chemistry and he felt kinda 2-d to me. I liked Rhysand better but I also don’t get why he was so helpful? I also don’t get why the bat thing was sooooooo scary it literally did nothing. Now I was grotesquely impressed by how vivid the torture scenes and discussions of pain and torment were but…. Eh I just didn’t enjoy this. (End spoiler)

Not a fan of the whole “I fell in love with my captor” trope. Dumbass main narrator who feels the need to state the obvious 30 pages after I already came to the same conclusion. Idk. It was entertaining, but not really my vibe.

This absolutely lived up to the hype. I am obsessed. String world building, skilled writing, compelling plot, and steamy romance. Gave me spicy Beauty and the Beast vibes. Cannot recommend enough. I loved the audiobook so much that I immediately relistened to it because I’m still on hold at the library for the next book.
