I saw this book everywherrrrre. Not for me. Such a focus on how the show was made and none on chemistry. Both characters were flat and I was so irritated at her negative self-talk. Never a fan of low self-esteem female tropes.
If you could rate negative stars, I would! The amount of screenshots I sent to my friends while reading this so I didn't feel like I was losing it the entire time was crazy.
Clearly intended to be set at the fictional version of SNL, one of their main writers falls for a musical guest they have on as a host. EXCEPTTTTT she's a hardcore feminist who thinks it's hypocritical that average looking men date hot celebrity women but when an average woman dates a hot celeb man people riot (true!!!!) and then enforces that herself by shit talking herself and developing crippling insecurities halfway through the book. The MMC is also just one of the worst written characters ever and made me hate men more. The entire thing was the most shallow, frustrating displays of a miscommunication trope written worse than usual with loads of misogyny for fun. Hated this fucking book

I enjoyed the SNL-alike plot, but the main character's endless insecurity to be repetitive, annoying, and straining credulity.
