Definitely a step up from Leather and Lark! Rose and Fiona have decent chemistry, but it feels more like nursing a wounded bird than actually falling in love. The whole “forced proximity” thing is there, but the pace is so fast it’s hard to buy into anything deeper than pure lust.

It kicks off strong, fun ride, good plot, but somewhere along the way it unravels into filler. Out of the three books, this one has the lowest stakes and the least sense of danger.

There’s a lot of back-and-forth drama, mostly because Fiona can’t stop dwelling on his past relationship. And the “friends with benefits” angle is not really my favorite trope.

Still, I enjoyed it more than Leather and Lark, but Butcher and Blackbird remains the clear winner for me.

YES. This book was so much better than book two and I am here for it!👏🏼 I loved the spooky vibes, the revenge plot, and the romance between Rose and Fionn. The relationship between the two MC's was much more relatable, full of witty banter, tension, and overall was just fun to read. And the circus/tarot bit??? I am a sucker for it! I flew through this book. Nasty yet romantic. But also, Weavers writing has so much humor and sass added to it, and I love that. It is a great way to connect with the reader!

Shout out to Barbara!!! I think it wrapped up well!

I think a complaint for me throughout this whole series is that all the women are like a stamp of each other. Like almost too similar and the Kane brothers are a bit more unique. I just wish the girls got to shine JUST as much as the guys because at times, I forgot all about the girls. Could not tell them apart oops. Idk not a huge deal but it does bug me a bit!🤷🏼‍♀️ Also some quirky, odd moments... meh!

No podía diferenciarlas, oops.

Scythe and Sparrow is definitely not the strongest book in the Ruinous Love trilogy, but is a fitting conclusion for the murderous couples.

I was excited to learn more about Fionn and Rose, but felt as though their back stories were under developed, and the tension slightly lacking. Rose's banter was entertaining, which was to be expected after her appearances in the previous books.

All in all, a silly goofy time featuring the occasional murder (but yet again, not without due cause).

I love how gross yet tasteful (maybe not a great word to use) Brynne Weaver can write some of these nasty scenes. Everything is so vivid & just feel like you are in the story as well. This one made me cry & don’t like crying that’s why I read Dark Romance. But I guess even the darkest of souls can consume every being of themselves to know what true love feels like!!! Rose has a few different nicknames & Mayham is one, then Sparrow, Banshee. She’s a freaking firecracker just like Barbara. And if you don’t remember Barbara then that’s on you cause she would def remind you!!
