Alright so for people who think that Pandemonium is going to be like Delirium... you are worng. Pandemoniuom goes between then and now and i liked that. It was cool to understand what was happening adn getting the back story. What i missed in this book was that it didn't capture me as much with it's writing as the Delirium did. There are some things that happened that you expect but several twists and an end that makes you Desperate for the next book! So can't wait to read the next one!!

This short review contains SPOILERS! I recommend you not to read on if you haven't read Pandemonium yet!

I've just finished reading Pandemonium, and to be honest: I LOVED IT. Please don't hate me now, I'm not a huge fan of the first book, delirium. I liked it, but didn't love it. It took me ages to get into it, and the story isn't fast-paced at all, I never really thought Lena and Alex were meant for each other. In fact, I didn't really like both of them in Delirium.

What I loved about Pandemonium was the INCREDIBLE character development. Lena is not Lena from Delirium anymore. Having gone through losing everyone she loved she became a different person, a more relatable person for me.

I also liked the way the book is set up. The change between the "then" and "now" chapters creates cliffhaengers that made me want to stay up all night, and finish the book. In contrast to Delirium, Pandemonium is super fast-paced, there is an uncountable number of twists and turns.

What many people can't understand is the fact that Lena was able to fall in love with Julian shortly after losing Alex. But I find it kind of realistic. She's just a girl, she has lost everything she has ever known and loved, She's completely on her own. She doesn't really know who she can trust, she doesn't know what the future will bring, and in my opinion Julian is just an amazingly lovable character.

Which brings me to the ending, OH MY FREAKING GOOOOOD... To be honest, I expected it. I expected Lauren Oliver to finish the book with a major cliffhaenger, and throughout the book it became pretty obvious that Alex was still alive. At least to me :) I TOTALLY could have been wrong, though!

I CAN'T WAIT for book 3, I can't wait for an amazing love triangle, a new Alex (a more realistic Alex hopefully!), and the amazing heorine that Lena has become in Pandemonium.

Great job, Lauren Oliver!

Bad, bad, Courtney! How dare you promise to review Pandemonium and not finish. Okay, maybe I should go into deeper detail. At least have some sort of review to share, especially since there is a 'why' to my not completing the book. One thing I can tell you, though, is that I flipped to the end. So, I at least know how it ends.

The thing is...the ending is the best part. Not the beginning. Not the middle. The end. The last two pages to be exact, are what I (didn't) read the entire book for.

Let talk about what I did like.

I liked how Lena grew from poor little runaway to kickass rebel. This actually isn't too much of a spoiler because you learn it fairly quick.

I liked the character dynamic between Lena and...someone else...no spoilers.

I loved seeing Lena live the life of a resistance fighter, which is a nice contrast to her life in Portland.

Now let's talk about what I didn't like.

I didn't like how the chapters were put together. I'll have to explain this one:

There are Now chapters and there are Then chapters. The Now chapters are what I wanted to read. The Then chapters are what I wanted to skip.

The Now chapters are about Lena after she joined the resistance and is, in essence, the core of the story.

The Then start immediately after Lena escapes from Portland. These chapters seemed pretty pointless to me, although keep in mind that I didn't finish the book. Maybe that changes. Honestly, I don't care. By my definition, these were filler chapters, designed to show you the backstory between Lena escaping Portland and joining the resistance.

Now...the doozy. There is a particular reason why most readers will pick up Pandemonium. One reason is that they loved Delirium and wanted to know what happens next. The other reason is that they want to know what happens next to a particular character....

To avoid saying anything spoilery, I'll simply say....you're going to be disappointed. And then I'll say don't jump to the last page...*gasp*

This isn't completely a horrible book, but that character isn't in 99.9% percent of it. And then there were those slow as all hell, completely boring, pointless Then chapters. But if you really want to read it, if only to get to the next book (which will have that one character you wanted to find out about) then I'll recommend you skip the Then chapters. From what I can tell, they really don't impact the story.

I loved Delirium...but this one is pretty unreadable.

After reading all three, I would have to say that this one was my favorite. Lena isn't some whiny little pansies anymore and turns into a much more interesting character. Better than the first and MUCH better than the third.

Ugh, I just don't know what to even think. I KNEW Oliver would try to pull off that ending, but was hoping that i was wrong. Bleh. Oliver does as always impress with her beautiful writing, though!
