This was highly entertaining from beginning to end. I love the whole Tomb Raider aspect of the story. The characters were well developed as well except I didn't like the romance at all. It was so quick and even though I liked the characters I didn't sense really any chemistry between the two of them. I have felt that way in the last series by these two authors. The romances are like love at first sight and I just don't believe in that concept. The story and plot though was excellent. I felt like I was apart of the journey and I found myself trying to piece together the puzzles and mysteries. I thought the world building was really put together as well. I have been finding that I highly enjoy stories set in space because space is so endless and there are hundreds of possibilities. I would highly recommend this to any looking for and easy Sci-Fi read because it is quite easy to understand and tons of fun. Looking forward to seeing how this all wraps up!
I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the author's other books. The characters were fine and the plot was interesting enough, but I just felt a disconnect with it. Nothing really pulled me in, but I didn't not like it. Maybe I was in a weird mood and couldn't into this as much. Also, the ending kinda made me mad, cliff hangers are the worst.
I really enjoyed this! It took me a tiny bit to get into it, but it picked up quick and kept getting better. Such a fun read and the ending was a shocker! Ready to read the next one!
Wow. I ended up with an ARC of Unearthed so I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! Unearthed is a sci-fi adventure that takes place in a future where Earth is desperately seeking a solution to save itself from humanity's poor choices. The story is told from the perspectives of Jules, a scholar, and Mia, a scavenger, who both find their way to the planet Gaia. Although their interests, beliefs, and life experiences are totally opposite, they find a connection with each other as they try to survive. Jules and Mia are both strong, likable characters and I enjoyed understanding how they think, their motivations. Perhaps their romance overwhelmed me at some points, but still I believed in it.
What's most fascinating in this story is the Undying, an alien species who leave behind advanced technology but only to those who prove to be worthy, determined by the tests they have created. While Jules and Mia are preoccupied with their obstacles at hand, I wondered about the Undying and had my theorieseven before the reveal at the end, I had a feeling that was it - I didn't believe those humans had disappeared . There is a much bigger picture in play than what most of Unearthed focuses on and I hope that is all explored in the sequel! In the meantime, I'll have to look into some other books by these authors.

This was a wild and fantastic ride! I’ve seen this book compared to Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider, but in SPACE, and I feel like that is a pretty accurate description. [...] The plot is perfectly balanced between the geeky joy of exploring another culture/alien species and other groups pushing our main characters into a race through the alien temple.

the elevator pitch for this book was Indiana Jones In Space. However, I h have never actually seen any Indiana Jones in my life so the only comparison I can truthfully say is The Mummy with Brendan Fraser but the genders are swapped - it has a similar landscape, comedy and wit.
Amelia and Jules were extremely well written and there was palpable chemistry, the quick dialogue and the back and forth was entertaining and the way the puzzles and traps were set kept up the fast pace, lingering just enough and not a moment more.
There were twists throughout the novel and there were well done, but the end of this book I am extremely eager to read the next instalment in the coming year.

Oh gosh was this book a wild ride from start to finish. It’s a great combination of action, adventure, science fiction and a bit of romance. It’s exactly as they say, Indiana Jones meets Lara Croft in deep space.
The switch between POV was deeply satisfying and I love Jules and Mia equally.
Also the Undying sounds so intriguing and I loved that we were just as unaware of who/what they are as the MCs. It was nice having to also piece together everything.
Would recommend to everyone to read, if not especially for Jules and Mia’s banter. It’s a great thrilling read, especially the last couple of chapters (thoroughly intense). Can’t wait for the sequel

Not my favorite - but good. Reminded me of a Goonies/Indiana Jones crossed with Stargate. Very old school archaeology feeling but with the tint of science fiction. Truthfully, I’d have liked MORE science fiction. Slow at the beginning - took me a good 80-90 pages to get into the story.
Indiana Jones + National Treasure + Contact = this thrilling space adventure story
I could hardly put it down and I enjoyed the sassy, complex characters just as much as the fast paced mysterious plot. Plenty of puzzles, conspiracies, aliens, and government cover ups to keep readers entertained, all while set in temples on an unknown planet far from Earth
